Think you are a supreme streamer?

Do you have a strange burning desire to email links of internet video to your friends while you should be working? Have you thrown out your TV only to spend your nights compiling playlists of rickrolls performed by ninja lolcatz on treadmills? We’re looking for you! Whose Stream Will Reign Supreme will pit two combatants together in the ultimate viral video smackdown, to take place during the This Is Not Art Festival in Newcastle.

To enter, we’re asking you to compile a playlist of the three most entertaining videos you can find to supremestream@gmail.com, to be posted on the blog http://supremestream.blogspot.com/ for public scrutiny. Our judging panel will then pick two finalists from the best entries.

Entries close midnight Tuesday September 23, 2008. To enter, you must be able to comply with the following rules:

  • Your entry, aside from the three video links must contain your name and a current phone number. We're not going to spam you, we just want to contact you if you make the final.
  • Should you be selected, you must be able to make your own way to the This Is Not Art Festival in Newcastle on Sunday the 5th of October, 2008, and be able to attend the final at the festival club starting from 5:30pm. We are unable to provide accommodation, so please keep this in mind.
  • The content can be pre-existing or of your own creation. There is no limit on duration, but keep in mind we have short attention spans.
  • The final will consist of two ten minute play-offs between with each set consisting of 5 minute long bursts for each contestant taken turn-about. The result will be decided through a combination of judges votes and the good old-fashioned clap-o-meter, but please remember, we don’t care who wins, we just want everyone to have a jolly good time.

Oh yes and speaking of winning – if you win you will not only be named “Supreme Streamer 2008” and get a nifty trophy, you will also receive a mystery prize which will be revealed on the day of the final.

It's all a bit exciting really, so best get cracking.

Katherine Byrne and Daniel Green.
